Ghrelin is a peptide hormone that has been demonstrated to be involved in the regulation of food intake, fat metabolism and insulin and glucose metabolism. NOX-B11 is a very potent and highly specific antagonist of octanoylated ghrelin. In rodent models NOX-B11 was shown to curb ghrelin-mediated food intake and induce weight loss.
